Developing Diversity Awards

Have you got a great project in mind? What could you do with £12,000?

The next round of awards will be made in February 2027, but it is never too early to begin thinking about what you might want to achieve.

As current thinking around RE, worship and spirituality are focusing more on community cohesion, NASACRE has slightly altered the scope of the bids and is looking for projects that promote Unity, Community and Diversity. We are maintaining the current two-year cycle, so awards made in 2027 will have an opportunity to bid for up to £12,000 with projects to be completed by the summer of 2029. There will be an expectation that projects will be able to present at either the conference or in one of the webinars that follow the conference.

Support from a member of the NASACRE/Westhill awards panel will be offered to successful applicants and any resulting materials shared on NASACRE and Westhill websites.

Current recipients

At the NASACRE AGM in May 2025 the following SACREs were awarded funds to carry out projects supporting the development of diversity in their local areas:

Camden: This project will see pupils engaging in inter-faith conferences, and training students in Y12 and 13 to be able to share their beliefs in primary schools.

Haringey: This project seeks to provide the children with better experiences of RE by developing workshop and community celebration opportunities, materials, ‘living voice’ videos, transcripts and activities.

Sunderland: Exploring Faith and Diversity through Art will deliver a series of arti based workshops to explore religious stories and symbols.
